What a wonderful week it has been! I am so grateful for the kindness and support I have received from everyone, teachers, students, and families. It was a true honour to be welcomed at our formal mass, with all three of our priests in attendance, as well as my family and friends. It was a moment of reflection and gratitude that I will always cherish.
Over the course of this week, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many amazing students and families, and I’ve received so many kind well wishes. If you see me in the yard, please don’t hesitate to come up, introduce yourself, and share your name. While I may recognise your face, it will take me some time to remember all the wonderful names that go with them!
I would also like to extend a special thank you to the ‘Events Committee’, who worked so closely with Mrs. Carabott to surprise me with the Q&A session. I truly hope that many of you have had the chance to get to know me a little better and learn about some of the things I enjoy doing outside of school life.
I feel incredibly blessed to be the Principal of a school that means so much to me. As a former student here, I know firsthand how strong the foundation is that this school provides, and I am honoured to now be in the position of caretaker and leader. I shared a little of my personal journey with those who attended today’s mass, and I spoke about how profoundly my time at this school has shaped me. God truly works in mysterious ways, and I am so thankful that my journey has led me back to a place so special to me.
As I step into this role, I am mindful of the legacy of St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop, the Josephite Sisters, and all the previous Principals who have led this school with passion and care. I will do my very best to continue their work and build upon the foundations they have laid.
I am looking forward to the journey ahead with all of you.
